Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”, the right is marked “44 MAGNUM”. The side plate has S&W’s monogram logo, the right side of the frame has the four line Marcas Registradas. The yoke cut is marked with the serial and model numbers. The butt is marked with the serial number. The yoke and the sides of the grip frame have inspector marks.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramp blade with a red insert. The rear sight is a flat top, square notched and white outlined leaf in a base that is micrometer click adjustable for windage and elevation.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered Goncalo Alves target stocks with S&W medallions at their tops. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is sharp. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Our Assessment: This is Smith & Wesson’s Model 29-2, built on the N-Frame with a square butt. With its 6 1/2″ barrel, this would make a great target revolver or hunting handgun for those who prefer a challenge. The revolver appears to have seen light use, retaining strong mechanics and a great bore, so this should still prove to be a great shooter.
